Tove Marika Jansson (August 9, 1914 – June 27, 2001) was a Finnish novelist, painter, illustrator and comic strip author. She is the author of, among other works, the Moomin books.

Manueline is the sumptuous, composite Portuguese style of architectural ornamentation of the first decades of the 16th century, incorporating maritime elements and discoveries brought from the voyages of Vasco da Gama and Pedro Álvares Cabral. The style synthesizes aspects of Gothic architecture with Spanish, Italian, and Flemish elements. The style was named after King Manuel I, whose reign (1495 to 1521) coincided with the development of the style.

Numa aldeia perdida da Estónia, numa igreja cor-de-rosa, entre as ondas do Báltico que banham os pés do templo encontramos este quadro da Última Ceia, datado de 1630 e de um autor desconhecido.
Merecem, talvez uma análise atenta as feições dos apóstolos...

Faleceu György Ligeti... György Ligeti passed away...

Húngaro de origem judaica, nascido na Transilvânia (Roménia) em 28 de Maio de 1923, foi um dos maiores compositores de música instrumental do séc. XX. Entre as suas obras mais célebres encontram-se a ópera Le Grand Macabre e as bandas sonóras dos filmes de Stanley Kubrick: 2001 Odisseia no Espaço, De olhos bem fechados e Shining.
No passado dia 12 de Junho de 2006 Ligeti faleceu em Viena, como cidadão austríaco, após abandono forçado da sua terra natal depois da Revolta anti-comunista de Budapeste, 1956.

Jewish Hungarian, born in Transilvânia (Romania) on 28th of May, 1923, Ligeti is seen as one of the great composers of instrumental music of 20th century. His best known work is opera La Grand Macabre and the various pieces that feature in Stanley Kubrik's films: 2001: A space Odissey, Eyes Wide Shut and Shining.
On 12 of June, 2006, Ligeti passed away in Viena, as Austrian citizen, after leaving his motherland in 1956, during Budapest anti-communist rebellions.
